Alexis Evelyn: ISSE 2013 Show in Long Beach

Last Sunday/Monday I was apart of a pretty awesome show held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach. I was asked that Friday at 11pm to do the show and I agreed because I felt confident in doing it. After hanging up I realized that all my dresses were in Victorville! After panicking and drinking a few drinks I made a plan to go home after work on Saturday--grab my dresses then drive back to Newport for call time at 6am on Sunday. 

Man that was a STRESSFUL day...over 100+miles to get my dresses!

I made call time and set up dresses on my own. 

Once the hair and makeup was done the girls got ready and started the show :) 

It was an aweosme experience and rewarding to know I put it on with only a day and a half notice!

Rene Antonio was the head hair stylist and I was the main fashion designer (some clothes were added from Forever 21 and styled by me).

Love...or hate?

Yesterday was an exciting day, it was the Presidential Inauguration of 2013! Unfortunatly I was at work all day and was only able to see/hear bits and pieces off CNN while at my computer. 

It looked very exciting and it was cool to witness such an event. 

I loveeed Michelle's coat/dress outfit. The structure, style lines and fabric...awesome choice! However...her gown made by Jason Wu...not my favorite! Although, he's so lucky to be chosen to create Michelle's gown...that's seen by the whole country! His sketch is sick and the burnout technique on the velvet/chiffon was beautiful but the over all design wasn't a hit in my books.

Goodbye 2012...

HAPPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!! 

It's kind of insane that it's already 2013...I mean come on! I'll be turning 25 this year :( I had an interesting year...overall it was a blast... but still had its moments.

2012...

celebrated the start of 2012 with my boy 

drove from SD to LA on New Years, in thick fog, on my own

went to the Oscars red carpet

went to the MTV Movie Awards

went to the MTV VMA's

went to London...twice!

made bridesmaid dresses for an old high school friend

made my first baby jumper

got my first full time job

got my own room in apartment

filled taxes for the first time

paid IRS for the 1st time

had 3 photo-shoots

bought my first set of tires

had my 1st smog check

bought my 1st full sized bed

deleted my personal Facebook

party rocked in Vegas over 5+ times

dressed as a Kia Soul hamster/ Dorothy/ Boo from Monsters Inc. for Halloween

car was broken into

debit account was hacked

taught a class of 5 in private school

became a fashion stylist at an alterations shop

and...continued to be a bad ass

Future

I applied for an internship thinking it was in LA but ended up being in NY. I submitted my resume and links to my portfolios...and got a response back!!
Alice + Olivia took the time out to respond and show interest in ME and have confidence in the fact that I'm a good candidate!
I couldn't stop smiling when I got the email! The fact that such an amazing company, one that I admire greatly, looked at my work and resume and liked it is such a great honor.

I'm definitely excited for the opportunities ahead and I'm not letting anyone get in my way.

Posh Spice

I'm not going to lie...I have a huge girl crush on Victoria Beckham! The fact that she was a Spice Girl makes her even better! I'm a BIG fan of her fashion collection, style and look. I hate the word "fabulous" but shes is fab! I'd love to intern or work for her line in the future. Below are sick pictures that I may want to recreate in the future :)
